As our event season draws near, we wanted to assure guests and tenants that the Great Meadow Foundation is carefully monitoring developments on COVID-19 and will proceed based on the recommendation of the Virginia Department of Health, Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization and local experts.

The health and welfare of our guests, tenants and staff is of the utmost importance as we navigate this dynamic situation. While we are currently maintaining regular operations, we will provide our followers and members with notice of any impacts to our spring and summer calendar. Updates can be found at greatmeadow.org

Due to social distancing and working from home, the Great Meadow staff may not be on site. To contact our team, please email admin@greatmeadow.org.

For the latest info on the precautions you can take and updates on the developing situation, please visit the CDC’s website and Virginia Department of Health.

Update as of March 25, 2020

For the time being, Great Meadow fields and walking trails remain open for public enjoyment. Administration offices are closed. Please be respectful and courteous and abide by the below:

‚Äč

  • Parking is limited to gravel areas. Please do not drive on the grass.

  • Practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet from others.

  • No more than 10 people in a group.

  • Keep dogs leashed at all times.

  • Clean up after yourself and your pets. All waste must be removed from the property.

Should these rules not be followed, Great Meadow may be forced to close the gates to the public.

In these unprecedented times, Great Meadow’s commitment to the health and welfare of our guests and staff remains the top priority. Under the advice of the CDC and other local experts, the Virginia Gold Cup Association has made the decision to postpone the Virginia Gold Cup, originally scheduled for May 2nd, to June 20th, 2020. Twilight Polo on June 20th will be canceled.

At this time, our hope is to begin the 2020 Twilight Polo season on May 23rd with Military Appreciation Night. Should that change, an update will be published. We will be adding an additional night of Twilight Polo on September 19th to the season. An updated theme calendar will be available shortly.

Our gates remain open for the community to enjoy the open space. Parking is limited to the gravel areas. Please be respectful and courteous, practice social distancing by remaining six feet from others, keep dogs leashed and clean up after yourself and your pet.

Staff will be working remotely and are available to answer questions. To get in touch, please email admin@greatmeadow.org.
